I am attempting to run dvdrip in gentoo (kernel-2.6.12-rc2-love1 w/ nptl),
but I am running into a problem. I am using the official ebuild for
0.52.5 & transcode 0.6.14, however when I start dvdrip (both as a user and
as root), it can't find any dependencies (including the mandatory). Under
preferences, when I specify paths to the programs (like mplayer) it sees
them fine. I have just upgraded to 52.5, prior to it I was using 52.3-r1
and did not have any problems (I was using a different kernel, either
2.6.10 or 2.6.11). I have reran source /etc/profile, and I can see all
the programs (like transcode) when I tab complete them in Bash (and they
run fine). Here is a copy of my PATH:
PATH=/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/bin:/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.4.3-20050110:/usr/i386-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.3.5:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.01/bin:/opt/blackdown-jdk-1.4.2.01/jre/bin:/usr/qt/3/bin:/usr/kde/3.4/bin:/usr/games/bin:/usr/share/karamba/bin
If it helps, here is my use flags for dvdrip & transcode:
[ebuild R ] media-video/dvdrip-0.52.5 +cdr +fping +gnome +mplayer
+ogg +rar -subtitles +xvid 0 kB
[ebuild R ] media-video/transcode-0.6.14-r2 -3dnow +X +a52 (-altivec)
+avi -debug +divx4linux -dv +dvdread +encode +fame +gtk +imagemagick +jpeg
+lzo -mjpeg +mmx +mpeg +network +ogg -pvm +quicktime +sdl +sse +sse2
+theora +truetype +v4l +vorbis +xml2 +xvid 0 kB
