[dvd::rip] Subtitles - can't find the right one

Subject: [dvd::rip] Subtitles - can't find the right one

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to code a movie with subtitles, but I can't find them! I used the preview function to grab 3 frames of ALL the 32 channels (the 31 last are marked as "probably unused"), and only the first one isn't empty. THe problem is that this stream contains the french subtitles for the whole movie, and I'm looking for a stream that contains subtitles only when the Japanese (I guess, I can't remember exactly) are spesking to each other.

When I play the movie with totem, I choose the "auto" stream, and it works nice. So, does this, I call it partial, stream exist? Or is the movie player just enabling the stream when it needs? I also wonder what a "forced stream" is? I've seen this in DVDShrink (I got it to work nicely on debian AMD64 using Wine). Isn't that a possible solution? I had such a problem with a famous spy movie too, I can't be the only one having that problem!

    Hoping someone can help me!

Benjamin.

P.S.: Feature suggest: a button to get the preview of all subtitles stream at a time, it's not really funny to do it 32 times in a row :)
