Sorry for not having read it.
The above problem disappeared after an update of some Debian packages in
my system. And now it is again there.

I have found a post in this mailing list that applies exactly to my
problem. The solution works as well:

But the work around is really annoying. One have to execute a lot of
commands by hand.
The author of the other post suggests to include an option in dvdrip,
but AFAIK nothing has been done. Any suggestions ?
I'm using dvdrip 0.52.5 and transcode 0.6.14-0.5, both the latest from
"Christian Marillat" debian packages.
