This module is usually packaged as "libintl-perl" and I'm sure there are
correspondent SuSE packages, probably in the standard distro already.

Hmm, Gtk::Gdk::Pixbuf should be a part of the perl-Gtk-Perl packages...
so I don't understand this... wait - or you have multiple Perl versions
installed, some with the Gtk modules some without. And if your dvd::rip
packages uses the wrong Perl version it doesn't find the modules. Do you
have more than one Perl version installed?

Stop. gtk2-2.8.3-4.3 is the C library, as well gdk-pixbuf-0.22.0-72.3.
You need the corresponding Perl counterparts, that's why dvd::rip's
Makefile.PL complains about them.

I think the main problem is that the pacman dvd::rip packages urge you
to downgrade your Perl version (which is not necessary in my opinion)
and hence you're loosing the Perl Gtk and Gtk::Gdk::Pixbuf libraries -
or you get two Perl installations and dvd::rip uses one where these
modules are missing.

I'd suggest the following: try to install the current unstable release
0.97.4 (it's not as unstable as the word "unstable" suggests). It uses
the much more modern Gtk2 library, probably you have less trouble
installing them. I dunno if there are SuSE packages for dvd::rip 0.97.4,
but if you get the dependencies installed, building it from source
shouldn't be a big problem anymore.

Hope this helps,

Joern
