Yes. I assume (I need to assume that because this information is missing
in your post) you're using dvd::rip version 0.97.*

This is an unstable release which introduced a major GUI redesign 
(switch from Gtk 1.x to 2.x) and not all dialogs are finished yet, in 
particular the filter dialog. But at least for subtitles a special 
preview function was added, so the filter dialog isn't needed at least 
for this functionality anymore.

Unstable releases lack up-to-date documentation, apart from the Changes
file, which mentions this issue in the entry for 0.97.1.

I hope I find some time after x-mas to work on 0.97 again more intensely
and finish the filters & preview stuff. Until that happens you probably
want to downgrade to 0.52.6.
