[dvd::rip] Glib dependency errors when compiling from source

Subject: [dvd::rip] Glib dependency errors when compiling from source

Hello all,

I'm trying to install DVD::Rip and I'm finding it very tedious indeed. The
documentation recommended using a precompiled binary, so I found an rpm for
Mandriva, but even that had tons of dependencies. Right now I'm stuck at
the following when trying to install libgtk2-perl_1.121:

*******************
[root@diavolezza libgtk2-perl_1.121]# perl Makefile.PL
Glib version 1.120 required--this is only version 1.082
at /usr/lib/perl5/5.8.7/Exporter/Heavy.pm line 121.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at (eval 11) line 1.

Checking if your kit is complete...
Looks good
MakeMaker FATAL: prerequisites not found (Glib 1.120)

Please install these modules first and rerun 'perl
Makefile.PL'.
[root@diavolezza libgtk2-perl_1.121]#
[root@diavolezza libgtk2-perl_1.121]# urpmi libglib1.2
The package(s) are already installed
[root@diavolezza libgtk2-perl_1.121]#

******************
As you can see, I have perl 5.8.7 and am running Mandriva 2006. Glib 1.2 is
already installed. Do I need an older version of Glib? Way confused here.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Marcus
