not being able to grab and preview images is a very common problem... and seems
like nobody has an
interest to fix this :-( . It seems related to the new kernel and transcode
itself. Generally, I
believe it should be filed as a bug to Ubunto, as the package obviously was not
tested when edgy was
released. I would be happy to help the developers and provide the debugging
information but so far
nobody replied to my messages neither in my mailing list nor in the transcode's.
I think ubuntu should have a system similar to wine's when people really
interested in making some
software to work should pledge some $$$ for a developer who would fix the bug.
I myself is willing
to spend up to $50. I guess if a pledge would reach $300 I probably would have
fixed the bug myself :-)
