[dvd::rip] video too fast on mplayer, no vid at all on xine

Hi,

finally got dvd::rip to run, but not really to work yet.
I wrote a backup of a dvd to hard disk with dvdbackup and started going thru 
the settings. I chose xvid4 for a coded (why are there 4 xvids anyway? I 
thought the latest official release was xvid 1.1 or so.) and 2-pass encoding.

2nd pass it at 11% right now and previewing the temp avi I get this:
mplayer: plays video way too fast (about 4x normal), sound normal
xine: plays sound but no video at all.

What other info do you need? Project data?
