[dvd::rip] current development version in cvs?

I have an enhancement I'm working on and I thought I'd see if I could apply it to the latest development version...however, it appears that checking out the cvs 'head' reports itself as 0.98.1, but there is also a revision tagged 0.98.2   ??  
 
So, what tag should I be doing development against?
