[dvd::rip] rar (for vobsub compression)

Subject: [dvd::rip] rar (for vobsub compression)

Hi everybody,

I'm relatively new to linux and ignorant of installation procedures.

I use Ubuntu 6.10 and have installed dvd::rip via Synaptic Package Manager.
When I first ran dvd::rip it told me:

"rar command (for vobsub compression): rar-2.80 not found : NOT Ok".

Therefore I downloaded "http://www.exit1.org/dvdrip/contrib/rarlnx271.sfx.
bin", which is now on my Desktop folder.

The web site suggests to install the binary to e.g. /usr/local/bin (which is
in my PATH) and then configure this path using the Preferences dialog.

Well, pretty plainly, how do I install the downloaded file?

Thanks.

ciao - Carlo
