[dvd::rip] zero compression rip

I tried this a while back and was unsuccessful.  I would like to select a track on a DVD and get a mpg/avi (don't really care which) that has zero video/audio(ac3) compression.  I've tried setting various encoders to 100% or 
1.0 but I guess the video still gets sent through the encoder and artifacts still happen.  Is there an option somewhere that I'm missing to do no encoding at all on the file and output a single mpg/avi?
