At first I suggest upgrading dvd::rip to 0.98.6 (just on the master),
because if fixes many cluster related bugs (but not necessarily your
problem).
BTW: you need dvd::rip installed just on the master. The slaves only
need a proper transcode installation (and ogmtools where applicable).

Here it suffices if the master can connect to the slaves using ssh
without a password. No need for the cluster nodes themselfs to connect
to each other.

Good.

Again: fping (and dvd::rip) are just needed on the master ;)

What to you mean with "3 slaves are pointing to it"?
What do you mean with "cluster manager on each node"?
It sounds a bit like you're running the dvdrip-master process on more
than one node, but probably I'm getting you wrong here.
> I'm tearing my hair out here! Can someone please help?
Please start dvdrip-master on a console with log level 3
% dvdrip-master 3
Then start dvd::rip with the cluster control manager window open:
% dvdrip -c
The nodes should get online within 10 seconds.
If not, please post the output of the dvdrip-master program.
For the record: I just recognized that dvdrip-master enables the node
checker only, when the GUI is connected to it - that's bad and will be
fixed in the next release.
