Hi there.

One thing yo do have to watch is the audio/video sync. You cannot pass parameters to transcode when in cluster mode. So you cannot adjust the A/V sync at all. I found that most of my cluster rips suffered from really bad sync issues. I now use my 4 cluster machines to do 4 separate jobs simultaneously. One sort of parallelization I guess! I can then pass in the -M 3 (for PAL) and -M 4 (for NTSC) that seems to sort the sync issues.

Cheers
Neill.

Hello,

I recently setup a rocks cluster with 6 computers and would like to encode
my large collection (1TB) of dvd's to avi. The clustering mode looks to be
ideal. My question is I have been using DVD Decrypter to rip the dvd's. I
read through the limitations section but am still unclear if I will be able to
encode this giant collection of VOB's. It seems to be somewhat of an
endeavor setting it up which I am all about but I don't want to invest the time
if this isn't going to do what I want.

Thanks, elpierco
