[dvd::rip] transcode not finishing cleanly

i've been able to make playable AVI files (xvid/mp3) using two-pass method, but on each pass transcode seems to reach 99% or 101% and then CPU activity stops.  by reusing the data from the first pass, i can restart dvd::rip and resume the second pass, but transcode seems to get stuck doing cleanup.
