Right,
All done and sorted.
I don't know what went wrong but I've fixed it.
I simply deleted ~/.dvdrip-master/master.conf
started dvdrip-master again and everything was happy.
I hope this helps anyone else who has this problem in the future.
I wouldn't mind someone pointing out the errors of my ways or why this
happen though, I would rather learn from the experience than just know
I've sorted it and risk repeating it.
Regards,
Laurence

I'll post a quick update.
After a "emerge --sync" and "emerge -av --update --newuse --deep world"
root seems to be able to start dvdrip-master, but my normal user account
can't. Still shows the same error.
Will "emerge --unmerge dvdrip" then "emerge dvdrip" see if it's now a
permissions issue that 'should' sort it's self out when re-emerged.
Will keep people posted.

Good'ay and Hello,
I've been a big fan of dvd::rip for quite a while and have been using
it without problem for quite a while now.
However recently I have come across the following message when trying
to start dvdrip-master.
"Can't restore job state due to data type mismatch: Job type=group,
Data type= at /usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/Event/ExecFlow/Job.pm
line 478."
Let me give you the quick story:
The cluster control showed that a handfull of dvdrip's failed to
encode to xvid one night and rather than address the issue I just
turned my machine off.
The next day and I always do I did a emerge --sync updated portage
then did, emerge -av --update --newuse --deep world. Looked to see if
there was anything that needed updating that I wanted to update (I
beleave part of gnome wanted to update) decided to allow it then
wandered off to get my morning coffee came back everything compiled
and ready to start the day.
I'm not implying that caused the problem, it's just the last things I
remember doing before the problem occurred.
I have tried googling the problem and searching the mailing list but
haven't been able to come up with a solution.
Rather than post all sorts of logs, system specs etc I'd rather you
asked specifically what you require to help.
I'm hoping this is just a silly problem that I've cause my self.
Thanks in advanced,
Laurence
