[dvd::rip] Switching from AutoGK (Windows)

Subject: [dvd::rip] Switching from AutoGK (Windows)

Hi everybody!

I'm currently switching from the AutoGK Program under Windows to
dvd::rip in Linux.
While I do rather enjoy dvd::rip, I have some questions/suggestions for it:

* How do I kill a preview?
It simply doesn't stop, and I have to kill its process (mplayer)
directly. I started dvd::rip from a console, and it showed me the erro
rmessage driggered by RClick, 'Q', 'F', [X], or whatever: "...No bind
found for CLOSE_WINDOW".
Surely I need some more config here - but how?

* AutoGK has a seriously useful checkbox: "Display only forced subtitles".
Any way I can do this in dvd::rip as well? Theoretically I should try
different subtitle settings and preview them - but the preview button
doesn't appear for me... but even if this *did* work, that AutoGK
checkbox is sooo nice and simple ;)

* Another real useful function which I haven't found in dvd::rip was
the option to encode the endcredits using different settings. I
usually don't care to know the name of the Key Camera Grip Polisher,
and most credits are not worth looking at... so you might as well
compress them *hard*. If you want them at all.

* It might be a good idea to get Ubuntu to automatically install
xvid4conf as well - you need that for the [Configure] button.
While we're at it (I have no idea who to talk at Ubuntu about this,
thus I'm posting/asking here): the latest available version under
Ubuntu is v0.98.4 - yes, even with 'pre-released updates' checked.
Latest actual, stable version of dvd::rip, however, is v0.98.8

Any help would be much appreciated! I'd be quite willing to write a
short FAQ on how to switch from Windows... as soon as I'm fully
capable of doing so ;)

Ciao,
Klaus
