So it appears that the program does not function on 64 bit Linux??
I also get error on trying to press the eject or load disc buttons
e.g. the Open DVD tray gives:
An internal exception was thrown!
The error message was:

Can't call method "project" on an undefined value at /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/Video/DVDRip/GUI/Project/Title.pm line 435.

Similar message on the Close DVD tray.
Also my DVD drives are both IDE not SATA.
Any other guru types who can shed some light?
I need to be able to clip 2 minutes out of a 43 minute .vob file - what else can I use?

I don't believe it's tcprobe. DVD::Rip uses lsdvd to read the TOC if it's installed. If not, it uses tcprobe. I uninstalled lsdvd to force it to use tcdecode and had the same trouble. I believe that the "execflow lsdvd ....." command never exits. Run dvdrip in the background, start the rip, and when it hangs, check to see if you have a "<defunct>" process by running ps with no arguments. I think that process has has a problem.
